Monday Making

February 1st, 2010 · 1 Comment · fambly, Monday Making

My Sister In Law, Lexa, and I have started spending time together on Mondays just creating whatever suits our fancy.  Since I got a sewing machine for my birthday and Lexa has rediscovered the machine she inherited from her grandmother, we decided this week to do a little sewing.  And it was FUN!

I came across the post on Wee Folk Art last week about simple little compress bags, and we were inspired to make some today.  Since we have no fabric stash to speak of, we picked out some flannel, and I brought along the lavender from my garden that’s been hanging in the garage waiting for its destiny.  Being fairly new sewists, we needed a little help with closing up the hole using a slip stitch.  Thank goodness for the great assist from Keyka Lou!

I think perhaps everyone in our circle of family and friends may receive one of these!

I love the fabric! I haven’t bought any new flannel in a while. My daughter and I use to make baby slings out of flannel, and we have huge stash. I would feel guilty if I bought new flannel. Anyway, I’m glad you had fun making them. Easy Peasy, right? Thanks for sharing on WFA. I’ll be linking on Facebook. By the way… I’m all better now. Thanks for the well wishes.
