S Dishcloth

Look– it’s the sixth letter in the series… only twenty more to go!  I had a lot of fun creating the S, and I really hope that the Sams, Sophies, and Smiths of the world enjoy it.  The pattern’s after the jump:

Supplies:

  • 1 ball of kitchen cotton (I used Peaches & Creme 4 Ply Worsted Weight.)
  • Size US 7 straight or circular needles

Gauge—Don’t sweat it on this project.  Just match your needle size with your yarn to create a fabric that has a drape you like.

When you say “repeat 5 & 6, four times” do you mean K/P those lines 4 times *total* as in 8 rows, or 4 times *after* the first set of rows 5&6 = 10 rows total? I’m sorry if this question isn’t worded correctly….I don’t know how else to explain it! Thanks so much for the pattern! Love your site!

Do you have a “Q” pattern?

  • sylvia campbell

i knit all the time especially dishcloths and afghans looking for patterns.

Will you please consider doing a series on the days of the week?

Since these are small, the letters could be placed diagonally, left top to right bottom, with the following abbreviations:

Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat

Or, could you make us a series of letter charts that we can fit into our creations, so YOU don’t have ro do all the knitting for the examples?

    Just a thought
