City Kitty Collections cat bed: the most popular spot in our house

Agnes in City Kitty Collections cat bed (purrty cat print)

I’m always on a search to find new products for Das Katzenheim’s residents.  With so many different personalities, activity levels, and physical capabilities, finding options to keep everyone engaged and happy is one of our top priorities.  I also really love supporting other cat lovers with an entrepreneurial spirit, so we’ve supported several Kickstarter campaigns, including this one by City Kitty Collections.

We’ve now had the beds in our house for several weeks, and I can enthusiastically endorse them, for several reasons.  The first is that they are attractive and well-made.  We received two of the beds– the colorful one in the photo above as well as a cheetah print in blue.  The colorful one is in our bedroom, and the cheetah print one is in our family room.  There are two plastic rods inside of it that are kind of like tent poles.  There’s also a two-sided (fuzzy on one side and nubby on the other) removable blanket in the bottom of it.

The second reason I really like these beds is because they are easily cleaned.  We deal with a fair amount of cat barf (mostly hairballs), as well as the occasional urine spot.  I first had to wash the blanket, which machine washed beautifully and then dried quickly by hanging in our laundry room.  We eventually had to wash the blue bed, and the plastic rods removed easily, the tent part turned inside out easily, and it also machine washed and line-dried beautifully.  It went back together quickly and with minimal fuss.  WIN!

The third reason I can recommend these beds is because they seem very sturdy.  We’ve had more than one cat decide to get inside at the same time.  We’ve had one cat inside, while another cat or two was on the outside playing the “whose paw is on my tent?” game.  We sometimes come home and find them dragged across the room, and we also find them collapsed with a cat or two sitting on top of it.  Besides being covered in cat hair (which doesn’t really show too much!), these look as good as the day I pulled them out of the package.

And speaking of the package– each was in its own clear plastic bag and arrived in a very sturdy and flat box.  We get lots of stuff delivered, and this package was really nicely packed, without a bunch of extra stuff inside it.

Finally, the guys seem to really like lounging in these beds.  They offer a cozy spot to nap or take a break from the action.  I hope to add a few more to our collection in the future!

[*Please note: I am in no way affiliated with and didn’t receive any kind of compensation for this review.  We were backers on City Kitty Collection’s Kickstarter campaign, and these are my thoughts on the beds we received for financially backing that campaign.]
